Have you ever wondered how to hang wreaths on kitchen cabinets? There are many different ways that people choose to do this, but here is how I have found works best for me.
To hang wreaths on the kitchen cabinet, first, you need to prepare your wreath and the cabinet. You also need to make sure you have the right tools.
One of our favorite ways to hang up wreaths on kitchen cabinets is with a screwdriver, but if you are hanging multiple wreaths it can be tiring and time-consuming which means that I now often use an electric drill instead. Electric drills can make the whole process go much faster, but it is still important to be careful. Try to follow the under mentioned workflow to do this.
Use a measuring tape
A measuring tape will help you to measure how wide apart you want your hooks, then mark on the back of your wreath (with an erasable marker) where you will need to make holes for them. Be sure that they are evenly spaced out! Take care not to puncture it too much as this can cause breakage in certain spots when hanging from those points later on.
Use a Drill
Using a drill with a small bit or even just a flat screwdriver, depending on how thick the wood is, to put through these holes so that you have nice strong mountings for each hook/holder/nail/screw whatever works best for what type of holder is being.
Next, take some thin wire
You have to take some wire and wrap it around the back of your wreath where you made these holes so that when you put it up on your cabinet, no one will see how/where they are mounted. If done right, this should be very sturdy! Keep in mind that you may need to adjust how much wire you attach depending on how thick your wreath is.
Use a hook
After heating up the end of some thin wire and bending it into a little hook (this process can be done by holding it over an open flame for about 30 seconds), I will put this through one of these holes we made into the backs of our wreaths. You can then use this wire to attach it to your cabinet where you want it! If done correctly, this will be very sturdy and should not fall down if properly attached how we discussed before.
This method works really well for me because I have five different cabinets that I need to hang on in my house, and it is how I am able to get the job done quickly. You can also do this on corner cabinets or any other shape of the cabinet that you have in your home!
Attaching Part
Now take out all of the hooks or holders (whichever type works best for what kind you have chosen), attach them to the front side of your wreath by putting each screw through a hole from behind, then tightening with a screwdriver until secure. Make sure not to over-tighten as this can cause damage!
Once screws are in place holder against cabinet door at desired spacing and mark on the front just under hook how far apart middle is going need to go. Drill two holes at this mark for each hook to fit through, be sure not to drill too close together or you will weaken the hold.
Attach hooks and holders back onto your wreath we recommend using a dab of hot glue so that they are up high enough on my cabinet door that no one can see how it’s attached but also easily removable if needed!
Then hang up your wreath and you should be good to go. Make sure you don’t have it so high up that you will hit your head on it when opening or closing cabinets! If done correctly, hanging up a wreath on kitchen cabinets can be really quick and painless!
Try hanging a few different types of wreaths
You can hang a few different types of wreaths in different places around your kitchen for some extra decoration! Which will also make the area seem a bit more “wintry” and festive. If done correctly, this should be a really lovely sight!
You can also get creative by adding things like pinecones, feathers, or lights onto the wreath itself or even around it to make everything seem more festive and eye-catching!
Keep in mind that not all decorations will work with every type of cabinet – if you have metal cabinets, try using something lightweight so it won’t damage them!
How high should I place the wreath on the cabinet door?
About how high you place your wreath on the door is up to you! You could put it at eye level or higher which will make a statement. Some people also like to put it lower on the door so there is enough room for a tall pot or pan underneath!
Then hang up your wreath and you should be good to go. Make sure you don’t have it so high up that you will hit your head on it when opening or closing cabinets! If done correctly, hanging up a wreath on kitchen cabinets can be really quick and painless!
Why do I use hot glue to attach ribbons?
We recommend using a dab of hot glue so that they are up high enough on my cabinet door that no one can see how it’s attached but also easily removable if needed! That’s why you use hot glue.
This method works really well because if you have different cabinets that you need to hang then you can easily switch out the wreath and it will still be securely in place!
Conclusion
To conclude, make sure you know well every process or at least have some experience. If you are confused about how to do this correctly, hire a professional. Always think about how you can use your creativity to make the wreath look even better! Then it will be a pretty sight for your home.
